Remembering 5 September 1895

Assalamu alaikum. On 5 September 1895, Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba (Xadim Rassul) was taken into exile by the colonial authorities. For Murids, this date recalls his steadfast faith, patience, and trust in Allah — and the beginning of a path of peace, education, and service (khidma) that continues today. Yesterday, 5 September 2026, the main celebration took place in Saint-Louis, Senegal. Across the world, Murid communities remembered this anniversary together in spirit — with prayer, reflection, and love for Xadim Rassul. Touba Tawfeex Birmingham Charity joins that worldwide remembrance. May Allah accept every effort and increase us in love for Xadim Rassul and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
